On this site, you will find sample chapters from my completed fantasy novels.
Why?
Because I am confident that you will enjoy them, tell your friends about them, and want to someday find the completed novel in a bookstore near you.
Yes, I know about the standard procedures: query letters, pitching at conferences and so forth. I have gotten some interest on one or the other of the projects from AAR agents and from the editor of a major publishing house, but that long-sought-after contract remains elusive.
At the last conference I attended, several speakers suggested I create an on-line presence and create some grass-roots interest, so here it is.
In the near future, you will find blog entries with my thoughts on the writing process, the care and feeding of the muse, what I have learned about the publishing industry, and tidbits of free advice guaranteed to be worth at least what you pay for them.

Read. Rec. Forward to friends and any forums or lists that you think appropriate. Link to your own websites, MySpace, Facebook. Yes, the big houses really care what you want to read. This is your chance to make a difference!
Oh, and e-mail me and tell me what you think. Knowing I have people who love these characters as I do helps me keep going.

About the Writer:
I am a graduate of Penn State University with a B.A. in English, Writing option. I have since honed my writing skills with years of critique groups, classes and workshops.
A Pennsylvania native, I have lived in the Pacific Northwest now for well over a decade, first in Portland and now in the beautiful wine country of Yamhill county, and each has colored my writing in different ways.
Favorite authors include Charles de Lint, Robin McKinley, R A MacAvoy, J K Rowling, Tad Williams, Judith Tarr and Nancy Springer. And, of course, J R R Tolkien, whose writings introduced me to the world of dream and magic at the tender age of eight. I've never been the same.
